The difference in the standard of living is a yawning chasm. It is difficult for Christians to fit in with the Hindus and Muslims who surround them. It is especially hard to find employment and the average income is under £21 per month. The demands of the schools and the cathedral are far beyond their resources.

The SARDHANA PROJECT is a charity operated by Arundel's Roman Catholic Cathedral Parish of Our Lady and Saint Philip Howard to support the schools and poor of Sardhana as part of their commitment to give continuing aid to a third world partner. There are no administrative charges, and all income is sent direct to the Bishop of Meerut, of which diocese Sardhana is part. These funds are allocated by Arundel and are applied for the schools, the seminary and the poor.
